Monday Marketing Minute #48~Twitter Brand Development for Artists

written by Rebecca E. Parsons

Why All Artist-Bloggers Should Use Twitter

Are you using Twitter?

From Facebook to Twitter to Flickr, social media is taking hot, hot, hot!!! As a blogger, you should already know this! If your blog is your primary social media platform, should you use other social media resources?

That a BIGGGG YES!!!

At the very least you should be using Twitter…you simply can’t afford to NOT use Twitter.

It is pretty simple to use (once you understand the jargon!).  It creates real value for your blogging efforts and the potential reach for you and your content is huge.I recently wrote a series demystifying Twitter for those who don’t know how. Part 1 of the series is here.

Over the next few MMMs, I will go over a few reasons why you should start using Twitter in addition to your blog.

Develop Your Personal Brand

We have talked many times about how your personal brand is made up of anything and everything that you say and do, whether on the internet or in real life. Social media platforms can be an extension of your personal brand if used well.

Twitter is a great way to further promote and define the personal brand that you have been developing through your blog. And it is also a great additional way to market your and and your brand! Not only are your Twitter posts further defining  your brand, it is another way to direct people to your blog to see your art.

It is essentially FREE advertising! When one of your followers retweets your tweet or replies to you, she is advertising your art and your blog to all of her followers!  The opportunity for free advertising is exponential.Just do it!!!

Looking forward to your thoughts and insights below :)}
