I seem to be spilling gratitude this week…it is my theme for Thanksgiving 2011. I created this Gratitude Tree to count my blessings…
One week ago I was not sure where I would be today…things changed, phone calls came, trucks went to storage…I woke up in my bed in my home this morning!!! and for that I am spilling gratitude!!!
as I walk by the sea each morning in mindful meditation, I recount the blessings I have. Each are tucked away in my heart to savor as I understand that a grateful heart unlocks the fullness of life.
I am thankful for the power of gratitude itself and exactly what the feeling of gratitude can manifest. I am so filled with gratitude this year, I had to find a way to craft it. The result is My Gratitude Tree.
Since I have no budget for decorating this year, I decided to use what was in my own backyard…literally. I went into nature and came up with decorations fit for a queen’s abode. With a little clever manipulation of things found in my yard, I have managed to create a warm and cozy environment for tomorrows feast.
I places some twigs in one of my prized blue Mason jars. I gathered some acorns and caps from the yard and set hubby to work gluing them together. He did a terrific job.
I punched circles from some yellow paper and we both wrote what we are grateful for this year on them. We threaded some raffia thru a hole in the paper and attached acorns. we had a little ceremony of hanging them on the Gratitude Tree. It looks amazing with the Gratitude Banner I wrote about yesterday.
They are simple to make and look so beautiful…you can do it too!!!

This is a beautiful post. What a great idea on the tree, and that garland is lovely! Stumbled and pinned!!
Just kidding about the pin. It won’t let me 🙁
Such lovely decorations!
Really like this post and the idea! Thank you!
