PhotoShop Designer 2 Student Art Exhibit

Our World-Our View

Cre8tive Compass Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its January 2011 student art exhibition is now online on Creative Compass dot com. The theme for the exhibition is “Our World-Our View”.

The PhotoShop Designer 2 Mixed Media Explorations e-course taught by Rebecca E. Parsons began in October and ended on December 31, 2010. There were more than 80 images submitted. Congratulations to the digital artists whose work is featured. The exhibit is running until February 11, 2011.

Featured Artist: Kaylene Maalste

I learnt to sew and embroider at a very early age from my Grandmother and Mother. These skills have led me through various phases of creativity. Since I have retired I am pursuing my creativity in art quilts. It is a slow process with new techniques to be learnt on how to express ideas. I live in Adelaide, Australia with my husband Henk who is supportive of my interests. Occasionally I teach beading classes at a local gallery where I sell my work (beaded items and dyed silk scarves).

Theme: Stories that can be told from house ruins.

Drought
Dust Storm
Flooded Creek

This house has endured in the harsh climate of the Australian outback. During the times when it was a home to early settlers it would have endured dust storm, flooded creeks and the devastation of drought, We will never know the dreams that have been shattered by these acts of nature, and only the ruins of the house remains to remind us of the hardship endured by the eraly settlers.
